Indianapolis hasn't been the same since Hope Anderson joined the Society of Young Magicians. She was seven at the time. Since then, she has emceed and performed in the opening night show at Magi-Fest when she was only twelve years old. Other performances include the Stars of Tomorrow Show at the Society of American Magicians convention, the Women-In-Magic Conference, and the Indianapolis 500 Festival Parade (the latter on a moving float). She has competed in several convention contests, winning first place in the Junior Contest at Abbott's Magic Get-Together in 2000.
Hope became Life Member #199 when she turned seventeen. The S.A.M. is keeping her busy. She is the Deputy for Indiana, the assistant producer of the Stars of Tomorrow Show at the S.A.M. convention and editor of The Magic SYMbol, the monthly publication of the Society of Young Magicians She is the leader of S.Y.M. Assembly #66, and has attended every S.A.M. Convention since 1992.
Hope is also active in the International Brotherhood of Magicians as the editor of the Junior Forum, a monthly column in the Linking Ring. She received the Linking Ring Award of Outstanding Merit for her Junior Forum column in the year 2000.
Studying music, piano, voice, and composition at the University of Indianapolis is keeping her schedule full. Her years of piano training served her well at the S.A.M. convention in Milwaukee. She had the opportunity to accompany Jay Marshall on the piano as he performed his signature routine, "If I Had My Way," with Lefty.
